HealthFitness has great opportunities available for on-call Health Educators supporting our Seminar events in and around the state of Nebraska! HealthFitness On-Call Health Educators deliver in person and web-based health education seminars and group training classes on a variety of wellness subjects. Successful On-Call Health Educators engage and motivate participants to engage in healthy lifestyles and address behaviors such as healthy eating, stress management, and increasing physical activity.
On-Call Health Educators provide engaging, practical, science-based seminars in a group setting to help raise awareness of healthy choices and reduce health risks among employees. HealthFitness educational seminars are one-hour seminars in topics such as diabetes, back health, stress, heart health, blood pressure, weight, cancer, women's health, sleep, nutrition and physical activity.
On-Call Health Educators also deliver group wellness classes to support individuals in transforming the way they approach healthy behaviors and use a coaching approach to help participants lose weight, quit smoking, eat healthier, manage stress, and increase exercise. The HealthFitness group wellness classes are results-oriented group training and motivational programs that occur weekly over the period of one to several months.
Seminars are developed by the Science and Product Development teams and delivered by the On-site Service Delivery team.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Deliver in person, at our respective client locations, and web-based health education seminars and group training classes on a variety of health and wellness subjects.
Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of data collected through health education and training activities
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education, Experience and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, health promotion, health education, community health, public health, exercise physiology, kinesiology or other health related field.
Certifications and experience in health related fields preferred.
Proven experience in presenting educational training in group settings.
Current CPR and First Aid certification required.
CHES certification preferred.
Minimum of 2 years experience in presenting health and wellness seminars.
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledgeable of health behavior modification skills related to improved nutrition, increased physical activity, managed stress, reducing/eliminating tobacco use, self-management of chronic conditions, etc.
Knowledge of, or experience in, health coaching techniques, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral modification, stages of change, positive psychology and other health behavior change theories and approaches.
Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others.
Knowledge of the following topics: asthma, back health, blood pressure, bone health , cancer, cholesterol, diabetes, heart health, nutrition, physical activity, stress management, tobacco cessation, weight management, women's health, men's health and family health.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
Effective time management skills, ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands, responsive to requests and punctual.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative and creativity.
Ability to travel, including potential overnight travel. Travel includes driving, and potential airline travel to client sites. Must have a valid driver's license.
Spanish speaking a plus.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
