Our Client in Dover is looking for Senior Mechanical Engineer.

up to 60k paAs part of the Operations Engineering team you will act as an 'internal consultant', undertaking mechanical design & assessments of both new and existing assets within the operational environment.
You will ensure that the required information on the compliance of its assets, and provide mechanical support and guidance to both technical and non-technical audiences.
The post holder will be an acknowledged expert within their technical areas responsible for the long-term management of the associated assets and systems.
This may include providing training and mentoring as part of the hand over procedure.
Also, assisting other technical staff in fault fixing.
Senior Mechanical Engineer duties and
Responsibilities:
To develop strategies for mechanical infrastructure including but not limited to:
hydraulic systems, cranes (gantry and mobile), winch drives, fender systems, mooring systems, berth and linkspan structures.
To carry out design and/or design review/assessments for installation, maintenance, replacement or modification of Mechanical assets in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.
Prepare design calculations, specifications and drawings for the construction of mechanical engineering works, to be carried out by contractors or the in-house engineering team.
To ascertaining the remaining design & working life of key mechanical assets and collaborating with the wider business on long term strategies for their maintenance, repair and/or replacement.
To manage statutory compliance for mechanical assets.
To establish the management and implementation of a mechanical inspection & monitoring (where required) regime.
To prepare designs, contract documents, specifications, drawings, risk and environmental assessments for the execution project associated works, which are to be carried out by contract.
Where designs are prepared by other team members of the in-house Engineering team, or by external consultants/Specialists, to support by reviewing and commenting on the designs, specifications and drawings.
To ensure compliance of project designs and specifications with asset strategies and plans.
To assess Contractors, Consultants and Suppliers against safety and quality competency criteria and make recommendations for appointment.
Exploring innovative technologies, and promoting energy efficiency and other sustainability initiatives.
Senior Mechanical Engineer skills and qualification:
BEng/Meng (or equivalent) in appropriate Mechanical or similar discipline.
Chartered or working towards chartered or incorporated membership with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) or equivalent.
Extensive post-graduation experience of undertaking mechanical engineering designs and calculations.
Experience of managing compliance of mechanical assets in line with current legislation.
Producing mechanical infrastructure development strategies and associated delivery plans.
Undertaking the role and responsibilities of Project Manager under the NEC Engineering and Construction Contract for large complex projects A demonstrable understanding of CDM Regulations, Health and Safety and is desirable if familiar with use of AutoCAD.
Good user skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Must hold a valid driving license and use of own vehicle.
