In this position you will be responsible for providing mechanical engineering expertise required to safely and effectively manufacture high volume consumer products of high quality and at lowest cost. Supporting Manufacturing Operations by recommending and implementing improvements to manufacturing processes, evaluating supplier capabilities, and leading project teams will also be important in this role.Specific Accountabilities Provide expert technical support to manufacturing and operations on absorbent materials processes (emphasis on rayon). Provide technical input to optimize the manufacturing quality and efficiency ofFeminine Care production operations. This includes: Introducing the latest, most efficient, most effective technology wherever economically feasible. Solving production technical problems on an immediate turnaround basis. Streamlining the existing machinery and processes to improve quality and reduce cost wherever possible. Provide manufacturability input and timing to assist R&D and marketing on all new product ideas or changes. Provide sound cost estimates and time lines to assist the process engineers and finance department with regard to capital expenditures for new equipment layouts, layout modifications or modifications to existing machinery/equipment.Required Skills and Experience Practical, but creative engineering approach with at least 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering roles; textile manufacturing process or relatedexperience (fiber, spinning, extrusion, etc)is strongly desired.Results oriented individual unafraid of utilizing a hands-on approach when needed, with the ability to lead sub-groups, task forces or teams to effectively solve machinery problems ranging from simple (slight modification/addition of single component) to complex (total re-design) on high speed, high volume machinery.Demonstrated ability to work with cross functional teams as either a contributor or a leader.Ability to work with outside suppliers, contractors and consultants to tap into specialized engineering expertise when needed.Ability to analyze, design, plan and manage installations.Excellent communications skills must be able to communicate effectively within the organization, both laterally and vertically.Working knowledge of SOLIDWORKS or equivalent CAD software, MS Project, and MS Office.Preferred Skills and Experience BS degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.A competitive compensation package which includes full medical and retirement savings coverage, paid vacation and holidays, is offered.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
