The Reliability Engineer(RE) is a maintenance staff position with the strategic task of avoiding equipment failures and subsequentlyimproving the reliability of plant assets. The position is focused on improvingequipment availability targets by analyzing data and implementing measures toeliminate failures. The RE conducts an analysis ofreliability problems, acquires and analyzes data and investigates to determinethe required reliability of an asset or system. The RE makes recommendationsfor improvements. This is accomplished though using:
Various data sources including OEE, SAP,Mean Time Between Stops (MTBS), Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) & control
charts
Various organized targeted approach techniquesincluding Failure Analysis, Level 2 Focus teams & RCM blitzes
Asset health tools including PreventiveMaintenance & Sanitation plans as well as leveraging technology within a ConditionBased
Monitoring(CBM) program.
Objective:
Theprimary objective of the Reliability Engineer is to achieve optimum assethealth & reliability by ensuring the correct work is being completed onplant assets to avoid equipment failure. This includes leadingthe Condition Based Maintenance activities and developing a formalizedreliability program. Approached in a structured way, this will ensure plantassets are operating at a high degree of reliability to meet productionvolumes, quality targets and maintenance budgeted costs.

Originates and develops analysis methods for determining reliability of components, equipment
and processes.
Consults with Maintenance Manager on variousaspects of equipment reliability.
Develops a strong working relationshipwith Operations and Technicians
Uses data to uncover and resolve badactors
Consults with the Maintenance Plannerto ensure priorities are properly aligned with reliability
goals
Reviews the 52 week asset health programto ensure proper content, frequency and alignment
of asset health tasks
Evaluates EquipmentMaintenance Plans (EMP's) for alignment with reliability goals
Active leadership in MRO activities includingaligning criticality assessments with MRO
needs, alternative solutionssupporting asset health & recommending changes in
stocking levels
Lead strategic initiatives includingcriticality assessments, RCM blitzes and Predictive Maintenance route developments
Monitor programs for asset healthtracking including I Reliability
Pursues equipment redesignopportunities & ensures incoming equipment is properly designed formaintainability and supported
with EMP's and critical spareparts
Reviews asset health & downtimerecording systems to ensure accuracy and train others as necessary
OEE,I Reliability, SAP
Providestechnical oversight and management in reliability areas including
Corrective Action System (FRACAS)
Failure Analysis (FA) process including the cataloging of FAresults and subsequent action items in SAP
SAP cause codes to ensure accurate recording and tracking offailure modes
Conducts audits on asset healthinitiatives to assess their impact.
May lead one or more MaintenancePlanners
Assists the Maintenance Planner withthe development of the annual shutdown plan.
Other roles as assigned
BSin Engineering or related field. Minimum 2 yrs. experience in engineering.Minimum 5 yrs. experience in maintenance. Strong written and oral communicationskills. Ability to work well on cross-foundational teams. Strong analytical andproblem solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.Strong People development skills required.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
