Summary Statement:
The Quality Compliance Manager is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the plant's quality systems to ensure compliance to regulatory, federal and local laws. Assists in the identification and achievement of facility Quality KPI's through appropriate corrective/preventive actions and continuous improvement initiatives. Leads internal and external auditing activities and follow-up. Acts as the site QCMS and HACCP coordinator. Leads the development of new quality systems/programs across the facility. Provides quality support and resources for major commercialization projects.
In addition to the following, employees are responsible for understanding the relevance and importance of the individual's activities in contributing to food safety, and reporting situations that may impact food.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Plans, defines and directs the site auditing program to ensure compliance to GMP standards, Kraft requirements, and regulatory, federal and local laws.
Identifies and achieves facility Quality KPI's through appropriate corrective & preventive actions and continuous improvement initiatives. Assists ISO Internal Audit Coordinator in training and mentoring site auditors and leads site team to insure program goals are met.
Monitors and maintains plant quality program by complying with current Kraft and ISO standards and ensuring all internal procedures, processes are accurate and performing to expectations.
Annually verifies all HACCP plans or when required due to project changes. Reviews and approves minor change requests. Assures plans are maintained and updated/approved as required.
Leads plant bi-annual validations.
Manages all internal and external inspections/regulatory visits.
Leads audit preparation activities, accompanies inspectors, and completes necessary reports and postings.
Performs follow-ups to non-conformances found and provides responses as appropriate. Train site on proper inspection procedure practices.
Assists in ensuring facility is inspection ready at all times.
Initiates investigations to identify critical parameters governing product quality and yield. Supports the development and application of innovative systems and controls to optimize manufacturing efficiencies while assuring compliance with the company's quality standards.
Assists in correcting manufacturing process variances that affect product quality by directing plant resources to conduct appropriately designed tests.
Develops and executes the methods to improve the effectiveness of the plant quality systems to assure a continuing improvement in product consistency and quality. These systems include laboratory functions, specifications, yield reviews, TQC, SSOP, HACCP, administrative duties, QCMS Management representation, Regulatory affairs, process capability and controls, and personal hygiene practices.
Provides leadership to new product /process implementation by coordinating activities between developing departments and their operational units.
Provides and maintain a regular program of reviewing and improving plant systems to optimize moisture, fat, protein, and yields to assure optimum costs at specified quality.
Manages the plant Quality Systems department to assure that all positions are filled with qualified personnel by appropriate hiring practices. Provide for necessary training and development in product knowledge, process technology, process control, optimization techniques, and Kraft competencies to increase the employee effectiveness and achieve optimum performance levels.
Facilitates follow-up and continuous improvement activities associated with Consumer Complaints.
Education
B.S. Degree or higher in a science field.
Job Knowledge and Experience
Five or more years experience in a management capacity in Quality Systems or Operations with a proven record.
A thorough understanding of quality management practices concerning Food Safety, Regulatory Affairs, and Manufactured Quality.
Expertise in use of statistical concepts to control manufacturing processes.
Expertise in use of computers to analyze data.
Proven track records of demonstrating the ability to effectively problem solve and determine root cause.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
