Application Analyst

A utilities client is looking for an Application Analyst/Business Analyst to join their IT organization.
The key expectation from this role is to support a broad set of technologies and areas.
This will include leveraging skill in specific areas to assist application deployment, improvement and support.
This will be done through participation in projects or doing independent work on specific application.
The role will also potentially involve working with service desk in specific areas directly on end user support or in support of technology projects.
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
- Works with business to anticipate future technology needed and be able to design technical solutions meeting those needs.
- Analyze business systems operations to understand strengths and weaknesses and determine opportunities to automate processes and functions.
- Devise or enhances procedures to solve complex problems.
- Research and identify Industry Best Practices.
- Use a variety of techniques to understand business requirements, such as interviews, workshops, surveys, site visits, and storyboards.
- Shape business requirements by making recommendations and suggesting alternatives to proposed solutions.
- Understand technical options, limitations, costs, and risks.
Communicate tradeoffs to business partners and work with them to shape requirements accordingly.
- Translate conceptual user requirements into clear, detailed functional requirements.
- Becomes a key point in escalation process and may take ownership of major incidents to ensuring coordination of resolving parties, effective communication to stakeholders and post incident review.
- Work with internal and third party teams to ensure actions are taken and completed to protect and improve services.
- Review IT projects and services, identify gaps and support resolution of gaps.
- Will be working on support and deployment of one or more systems like customer information systems (CIS), billing, financial, HR or reporting applications - Deliver small projects of medium complexity independently.
- Review testing outputs to ensure requirements are correctly interpreted; define and execute test cases.
- Document current processes and models to understand inefficiencies or gaps Knowledge in SQL, SharePoint,.
NET, C++, Wordpress, SAP or Oracle preferred.
- Business analysis certification (e.
g.
CBAP) is preferred.
- Basic project management experience preferred - Professional certification in agile methodologies is preferred - Knowledge / Experience in Utility industry IT systems and applications preferred - Bachelors degree in Computers, information systems and other related field - Entry level experience in business analysis and application support & development.
- Must display initiative, be able to work independently and have good problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong problem resolution, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Experience creating documentation such as business case documentation or business requirements summaries.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
