Summary Statement This position will assist Climate and Sustainability Section of the DNREC Division of Climate, Coastal, and Energy (DNREC DCCE) with implementing Delaware's Climate Action Plan through planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating policies and programs focusing on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving community resiliency through climate change adaptation.
The incumbent will be responsible for supporting programs and initiatives that support the strategies outlined in the Delaware Climate Action Plan, as well as other carbon reduction strategies.
Specific duties will include research and analysis of state and regional policies for climate change mitigation and adaptation, engaging in outreach and education with a variety of audiences, and contributing to written policy briefings, fact sheets, and reports.
Candidates with proficiency in GIS software including ESRI products (ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online) and/or Microsoft Power BI Data Visualization software are strongly desired.
The Climate Change Policy Specialist will also provide research and technical analysis to support building electrification, environmental justice, and public health considerations in Delaware's response to the global climate change crisis.
This position also has a key role in assisting staff with the development and implementation of new programs and policies associated with the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act.

Research and analyze policies, data and information.
Evaluate costs, benefits, and consequences of environmental and transportation policies.
Develop forms, spreadsheets, records and reports to document progress of adaptation recommendations.
Coordinate between agencies for meetings, site visits and data needs.
Must be able to demonstrate responsibility, dependability and good communication skills.

Six months experience in conducting research.

4.
Knowledge of interpreting rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
5.
Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
