About the Position:
The Real Estate Development Specialist will join a busy team that provides housing development consulting and technical assistance to nonprofit affordable housing organizations and coordinates real estate projects owned or sponsored by NeighborGood Partners.
The preferred candidate will have real estate development experience and knowledge of State and Federal financing opportunities.

Responsibilities:
1.
Primary responsibility is to provide real estate development technical assistance to nonprofit housing and community development sponsors that may include pre-development feasibility studies, site search and evaluations, financing options and application packaging, meeting with appropriate financing agency personnel, as well as identification and engagement of the members of the development team, etc.
2.
Be knowledgeable of multi-family and single-family affordable financing programs available to develop decent, affordable housing and facilities in rural and urban areas, and assist nonprofits in applying for such financing or programs.
3.
Respond to requests from nonprofit housing sponsors for training and technical assistance in a prompt and helpful manner, and tailoring training and information to best address their needs.
4.
Report monthly on grant/contract activities and housing development progress and develop any other reports that may be requested by NeighborGood Partners or a funder.
Qualifications:
1.
Bachelor's degree in appropriate field or Associate's degree with three (3) years of equivalent work experience with a nonprofit, social service, or government agency.
2.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills - grant writing experience desirable.
3.
Excellent mathematics and Excel skills.
4.
Empathy and understanding for low-income people and the challenges of finding decent, affordable housing.
6.
Experience with real estate development a plus.
7.
Courteous and business-like manner in dealing with public and co-workers.
8.
Position requires use of personal vehicle for NeighborGood Partners travel and employee must maintain a valid driver's license and current automobile insurance.
9.
Abide by and comply with NeighborGood Partners Personnel Manual and Code of Ethics.
