BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for promotion and sales of Northwestern Mutual Products and Services through a financial planning platform by delivering the right blend of 'behavior change' and 'product expertise' to the Field by:
Providing deep product sales knowledge that effectively links planning, product and market based strategies
Improving product distribution by providing individualized NO and FR sales consulting.
Delivering relationship management/consulting activities with field leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS: FINRA Series 7 and 63 licensing preferred or commitment to obtain licensing within 6 months of hire. Candidates without licensing will be required to take the Performance Skills Index (PSI) test. This position has been classified as a Registered Representative under NMIS guidelines and requires fingerprinting. Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business, marketing or finance. Minimum of five years financial services sales experience to include high level consultation on sales strategies, product features, tax implications and preferably financial planning platforms. Excellent product knowledge including risk based products, retail investment products and financial planning tools. Demonstrated ability to understand field leadership, structures, systems and processes in order to achieve planning and sales goals. Strong strategic consulting skills to include:
Ability to understand and implement complex sales strategies
Ability to understand significant market and product differentiations
Ability to link together multiple products into a cohesive planning based solution
Excellent territory management skills to include:
Ability to analyze, understand and balance multiple strategic mandates
Ability to influence NO leadership teams without explicit authority
Ability to determine and implement training programs across a broad audience
Ability to analyze NO needs and link to appropriate HO resources
Ability to understand FR business plans and support long-term implementation strategies
Strong sales performance coaching skills to include strong presentation and interpersonal communications skills. Ability to influence individual behavior over time without specific authority. Absolute competency requirement for fact-finding, planning process and tool implementation knowledge. Relative competency requirement for market and product knowledge (TBD). Significant travel will be required .

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
