Dexter Systems is seeking software QA Engineer Specialist candidates for a growing government client headquartered in Reston ,VA .
Job Title : Software QA Engineer Specialist
Duration : 12 plus Months
Location : VA or Washington DC
The incumbent is responsible for all aspects of Quality Assurance on small to large systems. This person will possess deep technical knowledge and experience with testing tools and processes. The candidate will be working on an Agile software development project in a small team composed of approximately 8 members (PM, BA, 2 Testers, 4 Developers) and a product owner
Essential Duties and Requirements:
3- 5
years of experience in software quality assurance
Extensive experience with automated and manual testing of desktop, web applications and web services APIs
Proven experience developing clear test plans and test cases from requirements/design/user stories
Continually assess quality metrics and improve test coverage and product quality
Maintain testing tools and infrastructure required to perform test automation
Test planning (including data planning), test scheduling, and test evaluation
Experience incorporating agile methodologies in QA process
Extensive experience with functional, system, performance/load, regression, and integration testing
Clearly and consistently communicate product quality status and recommendations for improvement
Ability to prioritize quality functions under tight deadlines
Evaluate, recommend and select suitable test management, test automation and performance testing tools
Excellent knowledge and skills in the following in the following areas:
Managing and tracking issues through JIRA
Ability to write and exercise automated test scripts
Familiarity with Linux OS, Tomcat and Java applications
Documentation of QA procedures
Knowledge of the following areas a plus, but not required
