Position SummaryThis position will partner with both Internal and external customers, to ensure that all regulatory requirements are being met. It is a fast-paced position that will participate in a wide array of quality testing that will highlight ability to problem solve, develop technical reports and present information. The position will utilize appropriate investigative tools, good engineering design and GMP's when investigating issues and recommending corrective actions.
AccountabilitiesBe accountable for all meeting all assigned Quality Engineering deliverables.
Ensure the quality of products produced at Playtex Business Unit is consistent with EPC / Playtex Mfg. Inc. Quality standards.
Ensure the Quality Unit is functioning efficiently by assessing current processes and identifying ways to streamline or improve.
Ensure the timely closure of Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA) investigations, on-going investigations and other non-conformance investigations.
Support appropriate product development quality related projects:
internal and external.
Communicates effectively with internal and external customers and support groups to resolve quality issues.
Creates and presents reports for management, and other internal groups. Reports include trip, audit, and current status.
Specific AccountabilitiesAbility to effectively communicate with cross functional groups located both externally and internally within the organization.
Knowledge of problem solving technical problems in a structured method.
Perform statistical analysis on data sets and be able to interpret results.
Conducts quality audits on appropriate regulatory and procedural requirements.
Ability to motivate closure of open Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA) incidents.
Ability to write, review, updates and approves Quality SOP's.
Perform and report microbiological tests to support manufacturing (both in-house and contract), validations, environmental monitoring, etc.
Ensure completion of all laboratory investigations including documentation.
Ensure laboratory equipment preventive maintenance is completed on schedule. Monitor completion of the laboratory equipment calibration schedule.
Assist as needed in the validation and/or qualification of laboratory equipment.
Required Skills and ExperienceBA or BS preferable in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Microbiology or related field.
Two to five years minimum experience working in a microbiology laboratory environment, if BS.
Zero to two years minimum experience working in a microbiology laboratory environment, if Master.
Two to five years minimum experience in an FDA regulated business or ISO:
9000 Quality System
ASQ CQE certification or Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
Process or Packaging validation a major plus.
QC laboratory experience a plus.
Preferred Skills and ExperienceKnowledge of CFR 210/211 or CFR 820
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Excellent computer skills - Microsoft Office
Well organized person
Strong technical writing skills
Strong problem solving skills, including root cause analysis
Strong statistics and sampling plans background with DOE experience a plus
Ability and willingness to travel, as in the execution of the duties of this position the employee may travel up to approximately 5%, or slightly more, of their work time
Working Relationships & EnvironmentPosition reports to a QC Laboratory Supervisor
Close relationships with Operations and R&D
External engagement will include laboratory suppliers and contract testing laboratories
Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time (auditing)
Ability to travel - ground and air
Work schedules may vary from typical business hours
Exposure to health risks or conditions that may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment
